A fabricator is responsible for manufacturing and assembling components or structures from various materials, including metal, plastic, and wood. A typical job description for a fabricator are:

Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine project requirements.

Material Preparation: Select and prepare materials for fabrication, including cutting, shaping, and finishing processes.

Machinery Operation: Operate a variety of fabrication equipment, such as CNC machines, laser cutters, welders, and hand tools.

Assembly: Assemble fabricated components into final products, ensuring quality and accuracy in alignment and fit.

Quality Control: Inspect finished products for compliance with specifications and quality standards, making adjustments as necessary.

Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery, ensuring proper functioning and safety.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, designers, and other team members to ensure project timelines and objectives are met.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in fabrication, welding, or machining is preferred.

Experience: Previous experience in a fabrication role or a related field is desirable.
