Description


The School Bus Attendant ensures the safety, comfort, and discipline of students while boarding, traveling, and disembarking from the school bus. The role supports the driver in maintaining a safe and orderly environment during transportation.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist students while boarding and exiting the school bus safely.

Ensure that all students are seated properly and wearing seat belts (if applicable).

Maintain order and discipline on the bus; report any misbehavior or issues to the Transport Supervisor.

Support young children or students with special needs during pick-up and drop-off.

Take attendance and confirm that all assigned students are on board before departure.

Communicate politely with parents, students, and staff during transportation.

Ensure that emergency exits are not blocked and that first aid kits and fire extinguishers are available.

Help maintain cleanliness inside the bus by encouraging students to avoid littering.

Assist in evacuation or emergency situations following safety procedures.

Ensure safe crossing of students on roads near pickup and drop-off points.

Coordinate with the driver regarding any delays, route changes, or issues.
