Practical experience as a makeup artist assistant, either through internships, apprenticeships, or assisting established makeup artists. This helps in understanding the industry standards, workflow, and client expectations.
Portfolio:

A strong portfolio showcasing makeup skills across different styles and techniques. This includes makeup for various skin types, ages, and occasions (e.g., bridal, editorial, special effects).
Product Knowledge:

Familiarity with a wide range of makeup products, tools, and brands. This includes understanding their uses, effects, and suitability for different skin tones and types.
Client Interaction Skills:

Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients to understand their makeup preferences and any skin concerns. This includes providing excellent customer service and maintaining client confidentiality.
