Processing Transactions: Cashiers are responsible for accurately processing sales transactions, which may involve scanning items, entering prices, calculating totals, and accepting payments. This includes handling cash, credit cards, debit cards, and other forms of payment.

Operating Point-of-Sale (POS) Systems: Cashiers use electronic cash registers or POS systems to ring up purchases, process payments, and generate receipts. They should be proficient in operating these systems efficiently and troubleshooting any technical issues that arise.

Maintaining Cash Registers: Cashiers are responsible for ensuring that their cash registers are properly stocked with cash and coins for making change. They also reconcile cash drawers at the beginning and end of their shifts to ensure accuracy.
